Introduction to ”Unlovable” Crowdfunding Campaign

In 2025, “Unlovable”, Meg Baier’s 5th album release will finally be set free into the world after a years long process of scrupulous writing and recording.  “Unlovable” is a concept album about living with a mental health diagnosis.  Each of the 13 songs dives deep into a specific symptom/experience of having bi-polar disorder, which Meg was diagnosed with when she was 21.  Depression, mania, dissociation, anxiety, psychosis, suicidal ideation, and more.  Meg was determined to write the best songs she’s ever written, not only to earnestly express and communicate to the world how it feels to live with bi-polar disorder, but to do justice to this important topic for the .5% of the population diagnosed with the disorder (and the millions of people trying to understand and support their diagnosed loved ones).  She also needed to ensure that the recordings were top notch and that the album was fun to listen to for everyone. With the help of producer and friend Marco Arroyo, simply put, “Unlovable” rocks!  Utilizing the instruments of a full rock band, live strings, and lush arrangements, the songs take flight and spin you up into a world of bears, dragons, oceans, aliens, and trees of gold.  From self-hatred to love, the album takes you on a journey of a sensitive, suffering, well-meaning human who is navigating the seas of mental illness with as much self-awareness as one can possibly muster when switching in and out of manic and depressive episodes.

In order for “Unlovable” to launch with its full potential and the momentum necessary to reach a larger audience, Meg needs to raise funds to help with production and promotion costs.

Having fully self-produced 4 albums with no outside financial contributions, Meg feels this project is one that she can, with humility and gratitude, ask for some help.
